Update On the Puerto Rico Death Toll (Cover-Up?)

Just a quick update on the death toll in Puerto Rico due to last September’s Hurricane Maria. If you didn’t read my last post on the subject, the quick recap is that our government reported 64 deaths related to the hurricane. But a Harvard study was recently released, which places the estimate at 4,645 deaths! That’s 70 times more than what we were told. I won’t go into a rant today… been there, done that… but I do want to share some new information.

I don’t typically watch the news, but happened upon a clip from CNN last night while browsing YouTube. Apparently, they sued the government of Puerto Rico (and won) in order to obtain documents which will, hopefully, reveal the actual number of fatalities caused by the hurricane. On the ground in November, just 2 months after Maria hit, CNN independently surveyed morgues in the area and found an estimated 500 deaths. Since winning the lawsuit, they’ve just recently obtained 12,000 death certificates of people who died after the hurricane.

You can watch for yourself here:

So Many Numbers!

Now, remember, Harvard’s study was just an estimate at 4,645. CNN now has 12,000 death certificates. Realistically, not all 12,000 will be hurricane-related, but we know that the number of death far exceeds 64. Which, by the way, is what our government is STILL reporting as the official death toll!

I said I’m not going to rant again and I won’t, but I do still want to know why questions about this aren’t on everybody’s lips? Why isn’t EVERY news organization on top of this story? Why aren’t the anti-Trump crowds and our social justice leaders not up in arms about the gross negligence, underreporting, incompetence or possible cover-up involving thousands of dead Americans? In case you forgot, we lost 2,977 people in the 9-11 attacks and 1,833 due to Hurricane Katrina.

The way these numbers are slowly being revealed out of Puerto Rico, it’s looking like the actual death toll may actually exceed both of those horrific events combined.

And yet it’s business as usual on every channel.

Why?
